Flight to Seattle Diverted Due to Passenger Assault
“FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Seattle-area man has been charged by federal air marshals with groping a female passenger aboard a United Airlines flight that was diverted to Pittsburgh as a result of the alleged incident. Michael Lamar Holland, 46, made his initial appearance before a magistrate on Monday on a charge of abusive sexual contact, according to Ted Hresko, special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh air marshals’ office.” (Link)
It is things like this that makes people not want to fly. Not only do people have to worry about how much liquid they can bring on the plane, now we have to worry about sexual assault on the plane. Not only do I feel badly for the woman who was attacked — but I feel badly for every passenger who had their time wasted because of one horrible person.
Every action has a consequence, and in the case the action of one affected hundreds of passengers. These passengers were either late getting home or they missed their connecting flights.
When you are flying, please respect everyone else on the plane — they paid just as much as you did (in most cases), and are just trying to enjoy their flight.
