Idol’s Judges Pre-Judge?

After Paula Abdul’s mistake on air, when she judged a contestant on both of his songs — when he had only sung one, there have been a plethora of rumors about the show. The top rumor is that the judges make comments during the Idol’s rehearsals and use them as ‘notes’ during the show.
About 13 minutes into Wednesday’s “Idol” taping, Seacrest addressed last night’s Abdul blunder: “Last night the judges were thrown a curve ball on the air, which is just part of a live show. But it sparked a lot of gossip about Paula. I read some of this online this morning and just for the record, the rumors, they’re not true. She’s part of our family and we love her.” The judges did not address the controversy. Simon Cowell reached over and hugged Abdul, as did Randy Jackson. “I think Simon still wants to hook up with her,” Seacrest said. (HollywoodReporter)
It doesn’t seem like it would be that bad of a thing for the judges to do. It is very hard to come up with comments about someone’s performance on the spot. I am sure that they are told to only judge the live performance, however listening to the rehearsal would sway their opinions, even if they did not want it to.
