Too Much Vitamin E?
A study has been done recently that is shows vitamin E could possibly increase ones changes at Lung Cancer. Vitamin E is known as an antioxidant, which helps purge the body of free radicals. Until now, vitamin E has been on the list of “good, but do not take too much” vitamins.
“Our study of supplemental multivitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E and folic acid did not show any evidence for a decreased risk of lung cancer,” wrote Dr. Christopher G. Slatore of the University of Washington in Seattle in the study.“Indeed, increasing intake of supplemental vitamin E was associated with a slightly increased risk of lung cancer.” (Link)
The overall findings showed that someone who took over 400mg/day of vitamin E over a period of ten years increased their risk of lung cancer by 28 per cent. While 28 per cent is a large number, ten years is quite a long time as is 400mb of vitamin E.
