Why Do I Feel Like a Sardine in an Airplane?
I remember years ago airlines started upgrading their planes to make more room for passengers. Most airlines changed to have a column of 2 and a column of 3, leaving out one seat. Apparently Delta Airlines has not caught onto the change yet.
I was on a plane from Tucson to Atlanta where the seats were 3 x 3. The environment inside the place resembled a sardine can. Luckily, no one was sitting in the middle seat, so I had a little extra room. However, if my row had been filled to capacity — I would have asked to be relocated to the wing.
Air travel has come a long way over the years — however they really need to make more room on the plane. Such a request does not seem plausible though, seeing as Airlines lose more money and any other type of company.
I look forward to the day where I can get on the internet from the air. I know that JetBlue is starting to experiment with the concept. The main problem seems to be the bandwidth. Planes can either use cell phone towers or satellites to get internet.
