Major League Soccer is under way. David Beckham and the L. A. Galaxy lost to the Colorado Rapids. Yes, there is a soccer team called the Colorado Rapids:

This sporting news is having fair coverage in the United Kingdom. In the United States, the media attention is not as much. The media are focused on things such as:
college basketball
major league baseball
professional basketball
professional hockey
golf
tennis
a hawk attacking a school girl in Fenway Park
This is just briefly what dominates today’s sports headlines. It is difficult even to find soccer news on some sites. And yes, if you mention the ‘Colorado Rapids’ to some sports fans, they would think you are talking about whitewater rafting… and not professional soccer.
