Decluttering the Clutter
“Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” - Albert Einstein
Clutter is something that everyone has to deal with at some point in life. Whether it gets to be too much, or you are the obsessive compulsive employee at work who deals with it on a daily basis — you simply cannot avoid it.
Here are a few tips to help take on avoiding clutter in the home/workplace. This link lists them all.
- Pick up 5 things, and find places for them
This tip may sound stupid, but if you take five things every day — you will be surprised at how quickly the clutter will start to disappear. Once you find a place for something, make sure it stays there when it is not in use.
- Pull everything out of a drawer
Every house has that one drawer where everyone puts the ‘misplaced’ items or the things that you do not want to deal with. If you start by clearing out this drawer, you can tackle one of the biggest issues in your house. Once the drawer is cleaned out — find a more permanent use for it. Don’t make it the junk drawer again.
- Have a conversation with your SO or roommate
This is especially big in college dorms or tight living quarters. Everyone needs to have their own space, and if your space is being invaded let your roommates know.
Those are only three of eighteen tips on getting rid on clutter. Organization can play a key role in how efficient you are at home or in the office. Keeping things neat not only makes you look more professional, but makes your living space look larger.
