Cyber Bullying Just Got Worse

Cyber bullying, or the act of insulting or defacing someone on the internet, has just taken a turn for the worse.  The new thing in the world is now ‘text bullying’, or the act of attacking someone via text message.

It’s also more direct than cyberbullying on the Internet. You see, it’s easier to delete an e-mail or set up privacy protection options on social networking sites, but it’s hard to ignore a text message, which instantly pops up on your phone. You also can’t block texts, which can be sent to the masses. (ABC News)

Nowadays, most cell phones have the option to block a caller — which makes it so they cannot send you text messages.  If blocking is out of the option, you can call your cell phone provider and register a complaint with them, against the number that is sending the bad text messages.  They can either take action (if it is on their network), pass the complaint on to the correct network, or inform you of some other options to ignore the message.

In all cases, pretending you did not get the message is the best way to go.  People often get bored if they realize their attempt at bullying is unsuccessful.
