Charitable Microsoft

One thing that I love to see is successful companies giving back to the community.  It is especially good when a company gives something those who are having a hard time in life.  Microsoft is doing just that in local hospitals.

Microsoft is teaming with the Companions in Courage Foundation to deliver Xbox 360 kiosks to children’s hospitals across the country, the company announced today.

Each kiosk will include an Xbox 360 packed with select games, movies and television content as well asaccess to a private network that allows hospitalized children to play games and chat with one another across the country over Live. (Kotaku)

This is such a great idea, because kids who are sick need something to take their mind off of what they are going though.  There is nothing better than to allow kids to talk to others who are going through the same thing.  I only hope that Microsoft gives more than one per hospital — there could be some conflict in who gets to play the games.

Thumbs up and kudos to Microsoft on this.
