Facebook Decides to Chat
Facebook used to be a great social network where students could stay in touch with each other when they went off to college. However, since Facebook has opened up its network to everyone — it has drastically gone down hill. From the addition of applications to the feeds that let me see every aspect of my life — the changes are not needed. Now, Facebook has decided to open up ‘chat’ on certain networks……
Facebook has added a new Chat bar to the bottom of the page that’s always present everywhere on the site. (It’s there by default, and you’re not able to hide it.) The Chat bar gives you access to your current chat windows, online friends list, notifications, chat settings, and your online status. (Link)
Facebook seems like it is becoming more and more like an instant messaging program than a social network. Now, I can see what friends are online and friends of friends that I might know. Facebook is officially the new MySpace.
Looks like it is time for a new social network to open up.
