11 Uses for the iPod Touch

Here are 11 uses for the iPod Touch. Hopefully it will convince those of you still doubtful of its potential to go out and buy one.

  1. It functions as a normal iPod, in that you can play music on it
  2. If there is a wireless router at home/school/work/where ever you are, you can access the internet
  3. The built in calendar allows you to use the iPod as a day planner. There is a possibility of syncing this calendar with Calgoo - more later this weekend
  4. The iPod Touch gives you an easy way to store your pictures and show it to family and friends while visiting them
  5. Built in timer/world clock is great for remembering the time for family in different time zones. The timer and alarm function is a great way to split up your workout into different sections.
  6. YouTube videos and your own movies/DVDs/Music videos look great on the 3″ wide screen

The next five tips involve iPods that are have January Software Update.

  1. The notepad feature makes a great to-do list
  2. The ability to add web clips to your home screen. Web clips are bookmarks that you can directly access from the home screen
  3. Google Maps allows you to plan a route (while you have internet) and then take your iPod with you for step by step directions
  4. Mail application allows you to easily compile mail from various account (aol, yahoo, gmail) onto one mobile device)
  5. And finally - the iPod is small, it fits in your pocket and does so many things. If you need more power - buy an iPhone. You will get all of the above abilities plus the power to make phone calls.

Apple is starting to make their products very versatile - which is great for people who want to use an mp3 players, but need more functions.
