Bear Recovers After Reconstructive Surgery
A black bear that was found near Stanley late last summer after it had been shot in the face is recovering well after a surgery in January to repair a gaping 2-inch hole in his face, according to the director of a group that does bear rehabilitation. (Link)
I cannot believe that someone would shoot an animal in the face, and then leave it there to suffer. It is good to see that the bear is doing good and on his way to a full recovery. The rehabilitation people say that they think the bear will be able to be released back into the wild.
The bear is being a perfect patient - better than humans. He is not bothering his stitches and he has pulled through all of his operations. Lets hope that he continues to recover and can eventually be released.
