Kingston 4GB Flash Drive Review
Earlier in the week, Catherine posted a great deal from buy.com: the Kingston 4GB Hi-Speed DataTraveler USB Flash Drive. I went ahead and bought the item because it was such a great deal. With Google Checkout, I was able to save $10 dollars — so the total price was $7.95 (the drive has increased in price by 1 dollar since I bought it. The shipping was free, and was supposed to take 7-9 days, however I got it in three. Now that I have the item — let’s find out if it is worth the bargain.
Pros:
- Cheap price
- Fast shipping
- Various payment methods (Google Checkout, Paypal, Visa/Mastercard etc)
- No cap - This is amazing. The drive has a retractable plug, that slides in and out. This protects the plug, which is a good bonus because I have nearly broken a few in the past. The slider sticks a little bit on either end (sort of a locking mechanism I guess)
- Migosoftware.com/kingston - a free syncing program that is offered with the drive. It allows you to easily sync documents between the drive and a computer (or multiple computers). The software offers encrypted protection as well
Cons
- The product seems to be a bit flimsy. What I mean by this is that it might break easily if you drop it from a good distance, or accidentally bend it while it is plugged into your computer
It is a great product and worth the price — whether you use Google Checkout or not.
Be on the lookout for more great buys — we will post them as we find them!
