Tell Your Mac What to Do
Ever wish that you could shut down your computer from afar? There are times when I go out of town and take documents with me. I have always wished that I could leave my PC on and then shut it down once I get to where I am going (and make sure that I have all my documents). Well, in truth, I can. LogMeIn is a great utility for those situations. However, those of you with a Mac have other options.
It is possible to shut your Mac down via email, as well as tell it to do a few other functions.
This process is fairly easy and involves creating a simple AppleScript and some Mail rules. Note that since these rules will cause your Mac to perform the listed action when they run, be careful when testing!
Seems like an interesting feature — the only issue is that I do not own a Mac. While this is cool, it is not enough to convince me to purchase my own.
