Having the Weather on Firefox

One of the initial reasons that many people switch browsers from Internet Explorer to Firefox is security. Another reason for using Firefox is putting add-ons (or extensions) onto the browser to customize it to your liking.

One of the extensions that I can recommend personally is Forecastfox:

Get international weather forecasts from AccuWeather.com, and display it in any toolbar or statusbar with this highly customizable and unobtrusive extension.”

link: Forecastfox

With this extension, it is very easy to check the weather in different locations. For example, if you are a resident of Seattle, you could have Forecastfox monitoring the weather in your city. You can set Forecast fox to have other profiles. Once you have set up a check of the weather say, in New York City, it is only two clicks to have the weather and the forecast displayed for New York City. Two more clicks takes you back to your local, everyday weather location.

There is another security reason for having Forecastfox. If there are some dangerous conditions approaching, Forecastfox can be set up to pop up a display. With the dangerous and sudden weather changes in some parts of the planet, having this feature is a welcomed security measure.
