U.S. Tap Water - Contaminated?
Most people have filtered water — whether it is built into their house or it is an attachment on their sink. It has become a sort of a stereotype to not drink tap water. Now there is a good reason for it. There are rumors that there could be drugs in tap water in certain cities.
A vast array of pharmaceuticals - including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones - have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.
To be sure, the concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, measured in quantities of parts per billion or trillion, far below the levels of a medical dose. Also, utilities insist their water is safe. (link)
Even with the concentrations so low — it is still a scary thought. If we are finding small tracing of drugs in the water, what else are people dumping? People need to realize that the water is not a dumping place for drugs, toxins and other ‘bad’ stuff. There are methods to get rid of those types of toxins. Introducing them to the ecosystem is not only bad for us, but for other plants and animals as well.
