Spam Attack Spoofs CNN
The spam attack which spoofs a CNN news service continues. It is a malware security risk and the distribution is on a large scale:
“…According to MX Logic Inc., spam posing as CNN.com Top 10 lists peaked at close to 11 million messages per hour early Thursday, but remained at high volumes throughout the day Friday. The Colorado security vendor said it had been tracking an average of 8 million messages per hour since midnight.”

Until the volume of the attack subsides, it is safer to go to the actual CNN site for any news and delete any email that supposedly originates from that news site. This is a good time to check that the security software has the latest definitions and there has been a recent scan.
