A Caring Doctor
A handshake is being credited for saving the life of a man who had a rare and potentially deadly brain tumor, the Daily Mail reported.Mark Gurrieri of Loughton, Essex, England, was working in a restaurant when he was introduced to a doctor who was dining there, according to the report.Gurrieri shook hands with Chris Britt, who immediately noticed Gurrieri’s hand felt “spongy,” a symptom of acromegaly, a benign tumor at the base of the brain that can lead to blindness, diabetes, high blood pressure and premature death. A lot of people say that a good doctor is very hard to come by. While in some cases it is hard to find a doctor who you believe is doing everything that they can to help you — this is an example of where a total stranger saved a mans life. Because this doctor had the knowledge of a certain condition — he was able to diagnose a patient while eating in a restaurant.
While that must have been an odd conversation for the doctor and the ‘patient’, I am sure that the patient was very happy that he happened to meet the doctor.
