NBA Trade Deadline Arrives - Along with Help for LeBron
The NBA does have a trade deadline. And just before the trading stopped, Cleveland, Chicago and Seattle had a huge exchange in personnel. Eleven players moved - and LeBron James has some additional help in Cleveland:
“…In a three-way, 11-player trade with Chicago and Seattle that has been submitted for league approval, NBA front-office sources say that Cleveland will come away with four new teammates for James, headlined by Ben Wallace from the Bulls and sharpshooter Wally Szczerbiak from the Sonics.”

It is not only the teams in the Western Conference who are trading and hoping for an extended run into the playoffs. With this trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers are hoping to improve their interior defense and their three point efficiency. This will provide LeBron James some extra room on the offensive end. The question is whether it is enough for Cleveland to stop teams like Boston, Detroit and Orlando. Not only is this a sports decision, it is a business decision. Winning will keep LeBron James in Cleveland; and that translates into very very very large dollars.
