A Clean Laptop
One thing I really hate about getting new computers (out of the box or reformatting) is that they come with so much crapware on them. From Norton Anti-Virus to AOL and Netspeed, I delete them all. It is almost easier to do a fresh install of the OS, rather then deleting everything. Now Sony is starting to offer ‘clean’ laptops, right out of the factory.
Sony is finally seeing the error of its ways, but instead of removing the crapware altogether, Sony has the nerve to offer a $50 “Fresh Start” option, which “scrubs” the machine clean before shipping it your way. At the moment you can only configure the TZ2000 crapware-free, but hopefully Sony will be rolling out the choice to the rest of its laptops soon. (link)
The only problem with this is that Sony is charging to put less software on a computer. This is probably because companies pay Sony to put the software on their computers. Other companies should start doing this, and probably will.
