Refusing Vaccines?
Vaccines are a great thing, however there are a lot of religious groups and other groups that think vaccines are bad. U.S. law states that children can be exempt from vaccines for certain reasons. The question is — is this safe for everyone else?
SAN DIEGO - In a highly unusual outbreak of measles here last month, 12 children fell ill; nine of them had not been inoculated against the virus because their parents objected, and the other three were too young to receive vaccines. (link)
Obviously we cannot force vaccines on everyone — that would cause massive chaos. With that reasoning, I do not think that there will ever be a solution to the vaccine debate. With children not being vaccinated there is no way that we will be able to irradiate some of the more deadly viruses from our nation; which could cause some major issues in the future.
