Life on Other Planets?
Have you ever wondered if there is life on another planet? Well, MIT has been searching — and now Google is joining MIT in the search.
Google has joined MIT scientists who are designing a satellite-based observatory -the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS)- that they say could for the first time provide a sensitive survey of the entire sky to search for earth-like planets outside the solar system that appear to cross in front of bright stars. Google will fund development of the wide-field digital cameras needed for the satellite. (link)
Google has already proven what they can do imaging wise with Google Earth. I think that Google is going to be a huge help when it comes to exploring other planets. Not to mention the fact that they have a lot of money in hand.
