Pet Food Seized for Unsanitary Conditions
Pet owners will recall the contaminated pet food recall of last year. Unfortunately, many pets were harmed because of that contamination and the resultant litigation resulted in millions of dollars being paid. Now there has been an allegation of unsafe and unsanitary pet food:
“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. marshals seized animal food products from a PETCO Animal Supplies Distribution Center in Joilet, Ill., on Friday.
The raid came after inspections found rodent and bird infestations in the warehouse.”

If your pet food has been purchased from this chain, a careful inspection of the bag and contents would be prudent. Tossing out open stock or bag of questionable food would be far far less expensive than veterinary bills… or worse.
