Dunkin’ Donuts Ad Symbolizes Terrorism
Dunkin’ Donuts stopped running an online advertisement with Rachael Ray due to complaints regarding support for Muslim extremists and terrorism. What could have been linked with Rachael Ray, that got Dunkin’ Donuts so hyped up about the online advertisement?
Dunkin’ Donuts pulled the ad, due to complaints about a scarf that popular TV personality Rachael Ray was wearing:
Critics, including conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, complained that the scarf looked similar to the black-and-white checkered kaffiyeh, the traditional Palestinian scarf. Critics who fueled online complaints about the ad in blogs say such scarves have come to symbolize Muslim extremism and terrorism.

Oddly enough, a scarf caused a lot of commotion. In today’s world, advertisements are everything. If Dunkin’ Donuts is marked as ’supporting Muslim extremist groups’ can lead to a major decline in business. If the word ‘terrorism’ is used, then people will definitely avoid the donut shop.
