Vaccines are something that we expect to be sterile.  Except for the fact that they contain some form of a virus.  Technically, they are not sterile — however we expect that the only thing in the vaccine is what we are being vaccinated against.  The FDA has sent out some ‘red flags’ in the Merck vaccine plant.

TRENTON, N.J. - Multiple potentially serious concerns, including contaminated packaging of children’s vaccines, were spotted by federal regulators who combed Merck & Co.’s vaccine plant in the Philadelphia suburbs, according to a published report. (Associated Press @ MSNBC)

Hopefully Merck cleans up their act — and any vaccines sent out that could be ‘contaminated’ are recalled.  Companies producing medical related supplies should know that cleanliness is one of the main priorities in manufacturing.
