Impressions through Google
Impressions, page views and earnings; that is why most of us are here, right? Are you on Google yet with your other websites? If not, now is the time. Getting on Google is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your website says Google Engineer Matt Cutts.
Spotlight your search term on the page.
Put your specific information at the top of your page. The top of my page has ‘College Student’. This tells people where my viewpoints are coming from and attracts a certain audience.
Fill in your “tags.”
The most important tag to Googe is <title></title> - meta keywords help but do not have much influence.
Get other sites to “link” back to you.
Google’s ranks sites based on popularity. The more people you have linking back to your website the better chances you have ofhaving Google find you. HAving popular websites link back to you is best; CNN, FoxNews, Techmeme etc.
Create a blog and post often.
This is one of the big ones. It is something that Chris Pirillo says time and time again. If you do not update your content, people will stop coming back to your blog. Blogs are great because they let you have a conversation with your reader. You give an opinion on something and they respond back,

Use them, live them, love them. Google Webmaster Tools are a great place for a beginner to start out.

Getting your site to be search engine friendly is not very difficult, however, the process can take a few weeks depending on who is linking back to you. If you follow these tips you are sure to get on Google’s index fairly quickly; they come from one of Google’s Engineers. If he doesn’t know how to get onto Google, there is a problem.
