Apple as early as Monday is expected to announce its 2008 back-to-school promotion, which will encourage students to purchase a new Mac through some of the biggest incentives in the company’s history, AppleInsider has learned.

Last year, Apple offered a $199 rebate with the purchase of a apple macbook. The rebate was not cold cash though, instead it translated into a free 4gb iPod Nano, or $199 towards and 8gb iPod Nano or iPod Video. Apple says that they are planning the best ever ‘back to school’ specials. I am wondering if the iPod Touch will be involved.
