Marijuana for the Afterlife

It seems that the effects of marijuana were known centuries ago. The marijuana plant may have been highly regarded and part of a burial ceremonies:

“Researchers say they have located the world’s oldest stash of marijuana, in a tomb in a remote part of China.

The cache of cannabis is about 2,700 years old and was clearly “cultivated for psychoactive purposes,” rather than as fibre for clothing or as food, says a research paper in the Journal of Experimental Botany.”

Marijuana may have been held in high regard - perhaps as a valued medical plant. The scientific speculation is that the marijuana was seen as a necessity to transition to the afterlife.

    1. researchers made efforts to germinate seeds found in the stash. unfortunately they were unable to do so. this is proof that cannabis has had medicinal properties for centuries. we need to accept this.
