Help Save Dexter
This is not something that I do often, however I think it is for a great cause. A five or six year old stray cat recently came into my life — and instead of letting him suffer on the street I decided to try and take care of him. It started with a trip to the vet this morning, where I found out that this cat, Dexter, tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). While similar to the human form, HIV — FIV has no treatment what-so-ever. While the cat is expected to live for many years — he is already showing symptoms of the disease.
Dexter is missing a few teeth, and has some issues eating food. He weighs eight pounds and is really bony. I am doing everything I can to get him into a no-kill cat rescue shelter. However, they are all full right now. I am pulling strings with everyone I know, in hope that someone will be able to take him in.

He is probably the sweetest cat that I have ever seen. He does nothing but sit around and purr.
My plan is to make a donation to the rescue shelter that takes him in, as they are all non-profit and work on donations only. If anyone would like to donate to the cause, please use the widget below. Have faith that any money donated will be given to a no-kill rescue shelter. Once I know which shelter, I will post back with an update. We are trying to get him into either Casa de los Gatos or HOPE Animal Shelter in Tucson, Arizona.
Please do not feel obligated to donate — only if you want to help a needy cat (and others as well).
Thank you so much,
Justin Capasso
