Senior Citizens Leading A Quiet Revolution Online

When my grandmother had her first cell phone, she would dial in the number and then wait. And she would wait. Then she would remember to hit the ’send’ button and connect the call. When the family talked to her, we would tease her and remind her to call and hit the send button. The cell phone is now so much part of her day that she has a spare cell phone battery, a cell phone charger for the car and, early last year, she discontinued her landline. That landline was a number that I had memorized from the very first days when I learned to use a telephone. I still remember the number. However, my grandmother said she did not use that line any more. She always has her cell phone with her; and she can text message.

Slushies Made at Home

This is an easy method of making slushies at home. It is really too easy to be called a recipe. Pick your favourite flavour of kool-aid mix and prepare by the instructions. Put the mixture into ice cube trays. When the kids need a cool drink, just put the kool-aid ice cubes into a blender and make it the consistency that is like a ’store-bought’ drink.

Using Dried Tea Leaves with Your Dog

Your dog may have a favourite dog bed or cushion. If the fabric material begins to take on a ‘doggy odour’, it is possible to take out that scent with either baking soda or dry tea leaves. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the dog bed and leave it for a few hours. Then it can be vacuumed and the odour will be decreased significantly.

Grilling Beer Can Chicken

I will admit that I was skeptical - highly skeptical, in fact - about beer can chicken. It was delicious. I was introduced to this method of grilling chicken by a local group of LAN party enthusiasts, who proved that they can cook as well as they can modify computers and game.
