These are teams with losing records or with little chance of reaching post season play. The Lakers sometimes lose to these teams and sometimes a win becomes a matter of escaping disaster.

Has Steve Nash peaked? If he has, then the Phoenix Suns are in deep trouble. Steve Nash used to be the catalyst for the “seven seconds or less” offense. The Phoenix Suns used to try to outrun their opponents and score. It was entertaining basketball. Now the offense that Steve Nash runs for Coach Terry Porter is struggling to put up points.

Retail Stores and Puppy Mills

Reputable breeders do not sell through retail outlets. It would be unthinkable for a breeder to treat puppies like shelf merchandise. Breeders care about where their puppies go and whether it is to a good home. The retail merchants will care whether the transaction is accepted by your credit card company.

BIXI - Montreal Tries Pedal Power

As a disclaimer, I must say that I am a biker. It is “biker” in the Schwinn-pedal-power-style and not the Harley-Davidson variety (although one can wish). I find that often a bicycle is more efficient than a car, especially during the city rush hours. Of course, the savings on fuel and parking are enormous.

It seems that a major Canadian city is attempting to become very bicycle friendly. Montreal is starting a bicycle program called BIXI - a combination of ‘bicycle’ and ‘taxi’:
